By the Way, Meet Vera Stark (Stage)

Feemster will be starring as Vera Stark on the Actor's Theatre of Charlotte stage in February and March 2014! This play offers a glimpse into the life of Vera Stark, a headstrong African American actress who begins a career in the 1930s, at a time when her only shot at success lay in stealing small scenes in big Hollywood blockbusters. Seventy years later, film buffs are left to reflect on the life and legacy of this controversial star, whose eventual fame and fortune came at the price of perpetuating dangerous stereotypes. Hilarious and poignant, By the Way, Meet Vera Starkpaints a vivid picture of the cultural climate that shaped this mysterious screen queen—and wonders who, in another time, she might have been.

 

Christmas In Conway (2013)

“Christmas in Conway” filming to place in Wilmington, NC and the film premiered on ABC in December of 2013. Mary Louise Parker, Mandy Moore, Andy Garcia star in the film, and Brandi Nicole Feemster is seen in the supporting role of neurologist, Dr. Anita Royce.  

 

Box Brown (2014)

Henry “Box” Brown is an African American born into slavery in 1816 in Louisa County, Virginia. At the death of his first master, young Henry’s family is torn apart and parceled out to various beneficiaries of the estate. As an adult Henry faces the same heartbreak all over again when his wife, Nancy, played by Brandi Nicole Feemster, and children are sold to a new owner. This devastating incident leads Henry to devise an ingenious escape plan: sealing himself in a wooden box for shipment to freedom in Philadelphia. 

 

Field Of Lost Shoes (2014)

Field of Lost Shoes is an upcoming American war drama film directed by Sean McNamara and written by Dave Kennedy and Thomas Farrell. The film stars Luke Benward, Lauren Holly, Jason Isaacs, Tom Skerritt, Keith David and David Arquette. It is based on the Battle of New Market fought in Virginia on May 15, 1864 in the American Civil War. Brandi Nicole Feemster appears as Martha Ann, a slave woman whose fate has a profound impact on moral development the young John Wise.


Nevermore (2014)

After his mothers timely death, James Thomas a big city district attorney decides to move his wife, Jennifer and seven year old son, Danny to the families rural estate in Cedar Rock Falls, North Carolina. Shortly after the transition, Jennifer and Danny begin to experience strange paranormal occurrences. Among other problems, the house is haunted by the ghostly apparitions of nine dead children.
